Amir: Oh, Ruth, I’m having such a bad time at work. Our new manager looks down on all his staff.

Ruth: Oh, no. That’s awful.

Amir: He expects total respect from us, but I just can’t look up to someone like him.

Ruth: Have you tried to get along with him?

Amir: Of course I have. Obviously I can’t fall out with him. He’s my boss. But honestly, I’m running out of patience.

Ruth: That’s too bad. You shouldn’t have to put up with being treated like that. Maybe you should talk to one of the other managers about it. How about we meet next week to see if we can come up with a plan?

Amir: Yes, please! Do you want to meet for dinner on Wednesday?

Ruth: That sounds great. See you then.

Amir: Bye, Ruth.

Ruth: Oi, Amir. Como você está?
Amir: Ah, Ruth, estou passando por um momento péssimo no trabalho. Nosso novo gerente menospreza toda a equipe.
Ruth: Ah, não. Que horrível.
Amir: Ele espera respeito total da nossa parte, mas simplesmente não consigo admirar alguém como ele.

Amir: Claro que sim. Obviamente, não posso brigar com ele. Ele é meu chefe. Mas, sinceramente, estou perdendo a paciência.
Ruth: Que pena. Você não deveria ter que aguentar esse tipo de tratamento. Talvez devesse conversar com um dos outros gerentes sobre isso. Que tal a gente se encontrar na semana que vem para ver se conseguimos bolar um plano?
