Gary: Pleased to meet you. So, is this your first day?

Rachel: Yes, I started this morning.

Gary: So, are you from around here?

Rachel: Yes, I live in Hackney. Where are you from?

Gary: Canada, originally.

Rachel: Really? You haven't got much of an accent.

Gary: No, well, I went to a school in Switzerland where there were a lot of British kids.

Rachel: Right. So, have you been here for long?

Gary: About three years.

Rachel: Do you miss home?

Gary: A bit, but I get to go back about twice a year - once at Christmas to see the family and then again in the summer.

Rachel: That's nice. I'd love to go out there one day.

Gary: You should. It's an amazing country. Lots of big spaces.

Rachel: I've heard that Montreal is really nice.

Gary: Oh, yes, and Vancouver too. That's where I'm from. So, are you from London originally?

Rachel: Yes, mostly. I mean, we lived in Paris for a year or two when I was about ten, but apart from that, I've been living here!

Gary: It's a great city.

Rachel: Yes, but I'd love to go travelling one day you know, just take off for a couple of years, maybe work somewhere, learn a foreign language ...

Gary: There's nothing stopping you!

Rachel: I know. Oh well, one day maybe.

Gary: Hey, we're going for a drink after work if you fancy coming along. We're meeting up at 6pm in the Hare and Fox - it's a pub just on the corner.

Rachel: Oh, yes. I saw it as I was coming in this morning.

Gary: It's nice for a drink after work.

Rachel: Perfect. I'll see you there.

Gary: OK. See you there.

Gary: Olá, eu sou o Gary, aliás.

Rachel: Rachel. Prazer em conhecê-lo.

Rachel: Sim, comecei esta manhã.

Gary: Do Canadá, originalmente.

Gary: Não, bem, eu fui para uma escola na Suíça onde havia muitas crianças britânicas.

Rachel: Entendi. Então, você está aqui há muito tempo?

Gary: Cerca de três anos.

Rachel: Você sente falta de casa?

Gary: Um pouco, mas consigo voltar cerca de duas vezes por ano - uma no Natal para ver a família e depois novamente no verão.

Rachel: Que legal. Eu adoraria ir para lá um dia.

Gary: Você deveria. É um país incrível. Muitos espaços amplos.

Rachel: Ouvi dizer que Montreal é muito legal.

Gary: Oh, sim, e Vancouver também. É de lá que eu sou. Então, você é de Londres originalmente?

Rachel: Sim, em grande parte. Quero dizer, moramos em Paris por um ano ou dois quando eu tinha uns dez anos, mas além disso, tenho morado aqui!

Gary: É uma cidade ótima.

Rachel: Sim, mas eu adoraria viajar um dia, sabe, só sair por aí por um ou dois anos, talvez trabalhar em algum lugar, aprender uma língua estrangeira...

Gary: Não há nada te impedindo!

Rachel: Eu sei. Ah, bem, um dia talvez.

Gary: Ei, vamos tomar uma bebida depois do trabalho se você quiser vir junto. Vamos nos encontrar às 18h no Hare and Fox - é um pub ali na esquina.

Rachel: Ah, sim. Eu vi quando estava chegando esta manhã.

Gary: É bom para tomar uma bebida depois do trabalho.
