Woman: We don't like the room, and we don't like the
hotel.
Man: We want to go back home. When's the next boat?
Receptionist: I'm very sorry, sir. There's only one
boat a day in the winter - and it left five minutes ago. There isn't another
boat until tomorrow afternoon.
Woman: 24 hours here! There isn't a TV. There aren't
any stores. What can we do?
Mulher: Não gostamos do quarto e não
gostamos do hotel.
Homem: Queremos voltar para casa.
Quando é o próximo barco?
Recepcionista: Sinto muito, senhor.
Há apenas um barco por dia no inverno - e partiu há cinco minutos. Não há outro
barco até amanhã à tarde.
Mulher: 24 horas aqui! Não há uma TV.
Não existem lojas. O que podemos fazer?
English friend: How was your weekend, Kelly? What did
you do?
Kelly: We went to Blackpool.
English friend: Blackpool? Why Blackpool?
Kelly: Well, somebody told us that Blackpool was like
Benidorm... in Spain. Well, maybe it is in the summer, but it certainly isn't
in April. The weather was terrible! And a lot of places were closed, you know,
the restaurants and cafes. There was nothing to do.
English friend: Where did you stay? In a hotel?
Kelly: I wanted to stay in a good hotel, but Jeff
wanted something typically English so we stayed in a bed and breakfast.
English friend: How was it?
Kelly: Well, the room was really small. And the
breakfast was terrible!
English friend: Terrible? English breakfasts are
usually very good!
Kelly: Yes, and that's what we wanted – a typical
English breakfast. You know, eggs, sausage and toast. But there was only
cereal, cold bread, and tea. There wasn't any coffee! The weekend was a
complete disaster.
Amigo inglês: Como foi seu fim de
semana, Kelly? O que vocês fizeram?
Kelly: Nós fomos para Blackpool.
Amigo inglês: Blackpool? Por que
Blackpool?
Kelly: Bem, alguém nos disse que
Blackpool era como Benidorm ... na Espanha. Bem, talvez seja no verão, mas
certamente não é em abril. O tempo estava terrível! E muitos lugares estavam
fechados, você sabe, os restaurantes e cafés. Não havia nada para fazer.
Amigo inglês: Onde vocês ficaram? Em
um hotel?
Kelly: Eu queria ficar em um bom
hotel, mas Jeff queria algo tipicamente inglês, então ficamos em uma pousada.
Amigo inglês: Como foi?
Kelly: Bem, o quarto era muito
pequeno. E o café da manhã era terrível!
Amigo inglês: Terrível? Os cafés da
manhã ingleses são geralmente muito bons!
Kelly: Sim, e é isso que queríamos -
um café da manhã inglês típico. Você sabe, ovos, linguiças e torradas. Mas
havia apenas cereais, pão frio e chá. Não tinha café! O fim de semana foi um
desastre completo.
