Louise: Here's the dress I love. What do you think? Does it look ok on me?

Zoe: Well, I'm not sure.

Louise: Why? What's wrong with it?

Zoe: I don't think it suits you. It's a bit short. Why don't you try this black one?

Louise: But what's wrong with this one?

Zoe: If I were you, I would try the black one. I think it’d look great.

Louise: Aqui está o vestido que eu gostei. O que você acha? Ficou bom em mim?

Zoe: Bem, não tenho certeza.

Luísa: Por quê? O que há de errado com ele?

Zoe: Acho que não combina com você. É um pouco curto. Por que você não tenta este preto?

Louise: Mas o que há de errado com este?

Zoe: Se eu fosse você, tentaria o preto. Acho que ficaria ótimo.

Jan: Sarah, can I have a quick word?

Sarah: Sure, what's wrong?

Jan: You know this morning, when you were on the phone to head office?

Sarah: Yes.

Jan: I wonder if you could close your office door when you're on the phone. Then no one will hear your conversation.

Sarah: It's not private. It's not a problem for me.

Jan: But perhaps you should close the door anyway, so you don't disturb other people. It's not fair on everyone else in the office.

Jan: Sarah, posso dar uma palavrinha?

Sarah: Claro, o que há de errado?

Jan: Você sabe esta manhã, quando estava ao telefone com a sede?

Sara: Sim.

Jan: Gostaria de saber se você poderia fechar a porta do escritório quando estiver ao telefone. Então ninguém ouvirá sua conversa.

Sarah: Não é privada. Não é um problema para mim.

Jan: Mas talvez você deva fechar a porta de qualquer maneira, para não incomodar outras pessoas. Não é justo com todos no escritório.
