I: Can you tell me something about your family - your parents, your grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, children?

J: Right right. Well, I'm originally from Cardiff. I now live in Cornwall, which is a long way from Cardiff. I've still got a dad that lives in Cardiff. He's 84 and we try and get up and see him as much as possible um, especially at the moment when he's, he's just been into hospital for a couple of weeks, but he's out now and seems to be OK. Um, down here I have a, an elderly cousin that I look after. Um, she's been in hospital as well – with a fractured, a fractured hip, but she's come out now and she seems to be coping well as well. Er, on the younger side I've got two sons er, both ... one, one is married and lives in London and he works in the center of London er, dealing with ... he works for the Audit Office dealing with er, at the moment East Eastern European countries. And my younger son er, lives in Hampshire, but he's now working in London and ... can I say the company? Er, work, working for lastminute.com er, as their marketing and media man. Er, we don't see them as often as we'd like but er, the one in, er, in London, who lives in London is, is married, so I've got, I've got a daughter-in-law, and the one in Hampshire has now just got engaged, so I've got a prospective daughter-in-law as well, which will be lovely. Er, my husband and I are both ...I, I work part-time at the local college, mostly May and June, so the rest of the year I travel and visit friends and relations.

I: Does your husband still work?

J: No, he's retired as well. Er, he likes gardening and er, grows orchids and loves ... he's gone very exotic in his plant life down here. He likes palm trees and er, plants from South Africa and Australia. And he also likes engines, trains, steam trans and he builds them! When he's, when he's got time he builds them. But yes, we've got quite a nice life and, as I said, because I work part-time we can, we can travel a bit and went to Australia last year to visit my sister who lives out there. And she's got two daughters er, so we've had a good time with them and er, seen how she lives. It's the first time I've ever been out there and she's been out there for 30 years, so I thought, thought it was time to go!

Er, do lado mais novo eu tenho dois filhos er, ambos ... um, um é casado e mora em Londres e ele trabalha no centro de Londres er, lidando com ... ele trabalha para o Audit Office lidando com er, no momento, países do leste europeu. E meu filho mais novo mora em Hampshire, mas agora está trabalhando em Londres e... posso dizer a empresa? Er, trabalha, trabalha para lastminute.com er, como o homem do marketing e mídia. Er, nós não os vemos com a frequência que gostaríamos, mas er, aquele em, er, em Londres, que mora em Londres é, é casado, então eu tenho, eu tenho uma nora, e o de Hampshire acabou de ficar noivo, então também tenho uma futura nora, o que será adorável. Er, meu marido e eu somos... Eu, eu trabalho meio período na faculdade local, principalmente em maio e junho, então no resto do ano eu viajo e visito amigos e parentes.

E: Seu marido ainda trabalha?

J: Não, ele também se aposentou. Er, ele gosta de jardinagem e, er, cultiva orquídeas e adora... ele se tornou muito exótico em sua vida vegetal aqui embaixo. Ele gosta de palmeiras e er, plantas da África do Sul e da Austrália. E ele também gosta de locomotivas, trens, transatlânticos e os constrói! Quando ele está, quando ele tem tempo, ele os constrói. Mas sim, temos uma vida muito boa e, como eu disse, como trabalho meio período, podemos viajar um pouco e fomos à Austrália no ano passado visitar minha irmã que mora lá. E ela tem duas filhas er, então nos divertimos muito com elas e er, vimos como ela vive. Foi a primeira vez que saí, e ela está lá há 30 anos, então pensei, pensei que era hora de ir!

I: Can you tell me about your family please, Mick?

M. Ye, starting with children?

I: Yeah.

M: Ye, I have er, a daughter called Tammy aged 34, Tiffany, 31, Nathalie, 24, Danny, 21 and Michelle, 19.

I: So you've got five children?

M: Yes. All with the same wife?

M: No. The first two, the oldest two, with my first wife.

I: So... what are their names again?

M: That's Tammy and Tiffany.

I: OK. So with your first wife.

M: My first wife, marriage, and the other three children are from my second marriage.

I: Ok. Right. So five altogether. Have you got any grandchildren?

M: Three, with two on their way.

I: Really! So which of the children have had children?

M: Tammy's got two.

I: Right.

M: Tiffany's got one, and one on the way, and Michelle is expecting.

I: Goodness me! Ok. So you've been married twice.

M: Yes.

I: Divorced twice?

M: Divorced once, pending now for the second time.

I: OK. So, you've applied for a divorce?

M: Yes.

I: Right. Have you got a partner at the moment?

M: Yes.

I: Can you tell me about her?

M: I can. Her name is Carole and er, she is 44 years of age. And she works with me in the pub.

M: ... in Walthamstow.

I: Has she got children?

M: She has er, three children. Her eldest is Kim. I don't know her age, but I think 24, James who is 19 and Thomas who is 14.

I: Right. Um, are your mum and dad alive?

M: No.

I: Ok. Um, what about Carole's mum and dad?

M: Her mum is alive. Her father's er, deceased, some time back.

I: Ok. Have you got any uncles and aunties?

M: No.

I: No. Have you got any cousins?

M: Er, hmmm, if I have I don't know where they are.

I: OK. Has Carole got any brothers and sisters?

M: She has er, two brothers and two sisters.

I: Right. Are they all in England?

M: Er, one is in England ... one of her brothers. The others all live in Ireland.

I: Ok. Whereabouts?

M: Round about the Dublin area.

I: OK.

M: Ela tem er, dois irmãos e duas irmãs.

M: Er, uma está na Inglaterra... um de seus irmãos. Os outros vivem todos na Irlanda.
